Our Parish Priest

Welcome, Fr. Joseph Collins

Rev. Fr. R. Joseph Collins was appointed Parish Priest by His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros, effective August 1, 2025. Originally from Mauston, Wisconsin, he and Presvytera Melanie have three children, Ty, Mikayla, and J.D.

Fr. Joseph earned his Master of Divinity from Holy Cross in 2013 and was ordained to the priesthood on May 15, 2016 at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New York. He previously served parishes in Poughkeepsie, New York and Cheyenne, Wyoming.

1928

Founded by families from Annunciation parish; the first church stood at 434 Elm Street.

1959

Our temple, modeled on the 11th-century Byzantine Church of the Holy Apostles, was consecrated by Archbishop Iakovos, his first as Archbishop of America.

53 years

Fr. George Poulos served our parish for 53 years, the longest single parish tenure in Archdiocese history.

Look for the terracotta roof on Bedford Street. Our temple was modeled on the 11th-century Byzantine Church of the Holy Apostles, and it has welcomed Stamford families since 1959.
