The Church of the Archangels is an Orthodox Christian community that welcomes everyone. We experience the love of Jesus Christ and we proclaim and celebrate the Good News of salvation for all God’s people through prayer, worship, fellowship, education, compassion, service, and outreach.

Our Parish Priest
Welcome, Fr. Joseph Collins
Fr. R. Joseph Collins joined us as Parish Priest on August 1, 2025, appointed by His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros.
He earned his Master of Divinity from Holy Cross in 2013, was ordained to the priesthood on May 15, 2016 at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New York, and comes to Stamford after serving parishes in Poughkeepsie, New York and Cheyenne, Wyoming.
Fr. Joseph and Presvytera Melanie have three children, Ty, Mikayla, and J.D.

Our Parish Since 1928
Built in the Byzantine Tradition
Founded in 1928 by families of the Annunciation parish, the Church of the Archangels has worshipped in Stamford for nearly a century. Under Fr. George Poulos, the parish built our present temple, modeled on the 11th-century Byzantine Church of the Holy Apostles, and consecrated it in November 1959, the first consecration celebrated by Archbishop Iakovos as Archbishop of America.
The Archbishop was so taken with it that the Holy Cross Seminary chapel in Brookline was modeled after our church. Fr. George’s 53 years of ministry here remain the longest single parish tenure in the history of the Archdiocese.
